Terms of Use
Last revised 1 March 2026
This User Agreement (hereinafter, the “Agreement”) governs access to the website https://cognomenlaw.com/ (hereinafter, the “Website”), operated under the brand Cognomen Law by Ventos Arqueáveis Unipessoal Lda (NIPC 519153529, Portugal), and the use of materials published on the Website.
By using the Website in any way, including viewing pages, submitting a request for a case assessment or sending a message, the Visitor confirms that the Visitor has read, fully accepted and agrees to comply with this Agreement.
1. Purpose of the Website
The Website is an information resource of Cognomen Law. It contains information about domain name dispute services, fee ranges, dispute resolution forums, zones, representative topics, publications and an inquiry form for prospective clients.
The Website is an informational platform and does not itself enter into an engagement letter through a click-through interface. Engagement letters, invoices or other individual terms are agreed separately after a preliminary case assessment.
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Use of the Website, including submitting an inquiry, does not create an attorney-client or lawyer-client relationship between the Visitor and the Operator, Cognomen Law or any engaged lawyer.
Such a relationship arises only after conflict-of-interest checks, agreement on the scope of work and written confirmation of engagement. Visitors should not send confidential or commercially sensitive information before the engagement is accepted.
3. Materials Are Not Legal Advice
All materials published on the Website, including fee information, zone/forum maps, decision reviews, guides, glossary materials and practice descriptions (hereinafter, the “Materials”), are provided for informational purposes only.
The Materials are not legal advice on a specific case and should not be used without an individual assessment. The amounts stated on the Website are indicative market ranges and fees of dispute resolution forums and do not constitute a binding offer; the exact cost is established after the case assessment. No result is guaranteed.
4. Services and Materials
• UDRP, URS proceedings and similar domain dispute proceedings before WIPO, FORUM, CAC and other forums
• recovery of hijacked, typosquatted or intercepted domain names
• defense of bona fide registrants, including Reverse Domain Name Hijacking arguments

The Website as a whole, as well as all Materials, design, graphic elements, text, source code, databases and other intellectual property and means of individualization, including the designation Cognomen Law, belong to the Operator or are used lawfully. All rights reserved.
• Visitors may view the Website and the Materials for personal non-commercial purposes.

• Without prior written consent, Visitors may not reproduce, copy, distribute or publicly display the Materials for commercial purposes, use the brand designation, create derivative works, use the Materials to train AI systems or engage in automated scraping, except within the ordinary limits of search engines.

7. Inquiry Form and Communications
The Website may contain an inquiry or case assessment form. Submitting an inquiry means asking Cognomen Law to assess whether it can provide or coordinate assistance. Receipt of an inquiry does not constitute automatic acceptance of a case.
For questions relating to the Website or legal matters, the Visitor may contact info@cognomenlaw.com.
8. Cookies and Web Analytics
The Website uses cookies and may use web analytics. Detailed information about cookies and how to manage them is provided in the Cookie Use Policy at https://cognomenlaw.com/cookies.
9. Third-Party Links
The Website may contain links to third-party websites and resources, including dispute resolution forums, domain registrars, professional publications, the press, directories and partner services. Such links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. The Operator is not responsible for third-party resources.
10. Jurisdictional Statements
Cognomen Law focuses on domain name disputes and may coordinate local lawyers when a matter is governed by foreign law, court procedure or forum rules requiring local admission. Use of the Website does not constitute the provision of legal services in the Visitor’s country of residence.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator is not liable for direct or indirect losses, lost profits, reputational harm or other losses arising from use of the Website, reliance on the Materials, technical unavailability, loss of data in transit or actions of third parties. The Website is provided “as is”.
12. Amendments, Applicable Law and Disputes
The Operator may amend this Agreement unilaterally. The current version is published at https://cognomenlaw.com/terms or on another legal page of the Website. Continued use of the Website after publication of an updated version means acceptance of that version.
This Agreement and any relationships arising from use of the Website are governed by applicable law. Disputes are subject to resolution through negotiations and, in the absence of settlement, by a competent court determined in accordance with applicable law, unless mandatory rules require otherwise.
